Setup guide

About 15 minutes, once per store. Nothing here can change or break your Shopify store: ShipCheck only reads orders.

1

Create your account

  1. Open the invite link you were sent and create your account with your email and a password.
  2. Everything you add is private to your account. Nobody else sees your stores or orders.
2

Connect your Shopify store

You'll create a small private app in Shopify that lets ShipCheck read your orders. Use the login that owns the store.

  1. Go to dev.shopify.com/dashboard and sign in.
  2. Click Create app, choose to start from the Dev Dashboard, and name it ShipCheck.
  3. Open Versions (or Configuration). Under Access scopes add read_orders. That's the only one needed. If the list doesn't show it, type it into the scopes box.
  4. In the same place set App URL to https://admin.shopify.com. This stops a blank "example.com" page appearing after install.
  5. Click Release to save that version.
  6. Go to the app's Home, click Install app, pick your store, and approve.
  7. Open the app's Settings and copy the Client ID and Client secret. Treat the secret like a password.
  8. In ShipCheck click Add store. Enter a name, your yourstore.myshopify.com address, the Client ID and the secret, then save.
Can't find your .myshopify.com address? In Shopify admin go to Settings → Domains; it's listed there.
Check it worked: open your store in ShipCheck, go to Discord in the left menu, and press Test next to Shopify. The activity box at the top should say "Shopify OK".
3

Pull orders and run the first check

  1. On your store's page, open More ▾ (top right) and press Only pull new orders from Shopify. It pulls shipped orders with tracking numbers from the last 60 days.
  2. Press Scan due orders. ShipCheck looks up each tracking number with the carrier. About 100 orders take 20 seconds; watch progress at the top.
  3. After that it re-checks automatically every few days until each parcel is delivered.
Carriers tracked today: YunExpress, Yanwen and 4PX. Parcels with other carriers show as "Carrier not supported" for now.
4

Get alerts in Discord

  1. Open your store's Discord section and click Install link (or use this link). Pick your Discord server and approve.
  2. In the channel where you want alerts, type /connect followed by the store's code. The code is shown on the store's Discord section.
  3. Optional: type /notify to choose who gets tagged, and when.
  4. Want alerts in more than one channel or server? Run /connect again in each one.
Private channel? Add ShipCheck Bot to it first (channel settings → add members), otherwise the command won't respond.
Other commands: /status shows your numbers, /resolve A1234 marks an order handled, /pause and /resume stop and restart alerts in a channel.
5

Customer emails (optional)

ShipCheck can email your shopper when their order has a problem, in your own words. Open Customer emails, edit the messages, tick the ones you want, and switch it on. Sending needs to be enabled by your ShipCheck contact first; until then nothing goes out.

6

Day to day

  • Orders → Issues lists everything that needs a decision: returns, failed deliveries, stuck parcels, never shipped.
  • Tick Resolved on an order once it's handled, then press Resolve in the bar that appears. It moves to the Resolved tab and stops alerting.
  • Problem report shows what needs attention that day, with Today and Yesterday tabs and arrows to step through days.
  • Discord gets new problems as they're found, a daily report of anything new, reminders while something stays open, and a weekly list of everything still open.
7

Ask Claude about your orders (optional)

Connect ShipCheck to Claude and ask about your orders in plain English. Claude only sees your own stores, and it can only look things up: it can't change, scan, send or delete anything.

  1. In Claude, open Connectors, search for ShipCheck and click Connect.
  2. A ShipCheck page opens: sign in with your ShipCheck email and password, then click Allow.
  3. In a chat, switch ShipCheck on from the tools menu.

Things to ask

  • "Which of my orders are stuck, and for how long?"
  • "What's going on with order #1234? Explain the tracking in plain English."
  • "List every parcel being returned to sender, with the customer's email."
  • "Give me today's summary for my store."
  • "Find the orders for jane@example.com."
Also connect Gmail in Claude and ask "show me the email history for order #1234". Claude looks the order up in ShipCheck, then searches your inbox for the order number and the customer's email.
Can't find it in the list? Click Add custom connector instead, name it ShipCheck and paste https://shipcheck-production-2bbc.up.railway.app/mcp
To disconnect, open Account in ShipCheck and press Disconnect next to Claude, or remove the connector in Claude.

If something goes wrong

  • Shopify test fails: check the .myshopify.com address, the Client ID and secret, and that the app is installed on the store (step 2.6).
  • No orders after sync: only shipped orders with a tracking number appear. Brand new stores may simply have none yet.
  • "Another job is running": someone's check is in progress. Wait a minute and press the button again.
  • Bot doesn't answer: make sure it's in the channel, then fully quit and reopen Discord once.
